2003 Bentley Arnage T :
Should You Buy This Car?
One thing we can say with certainty about the Arnage T: Once you've driven a car that's this fast, but also as straightforward to drive as an American luxury sedan (no fancy shifting, no odd seating, no cramped quarters, easy vision through all the windows), a high-end sports car seems like overkill.
Oh, sure, for a sheer adrenaline-inducing driving experience, we'd still prefer a Ferrari; don't get us wrong. But if you were looking for something a little more civilized for daily use, something that could readily handle the suit jacket on the hook in back and the briefcase on the floor, and that could also be used to entertain your pals--oh, and can follow your buddy's 'Vette and then pass him at 100mph--geez, what a gas to own an Arnage T! (Speaking of gas, with a burn rate of 10 mpg in the city and 15 mpg on the highway, this car uses a lot of it.)
There are other cars you could consider instead, such as a
Mercedes-Benz CL600 and the forthcoming
Maybach, but although the former offers serious sedan performance and luxury, it doesn't tell the world you're driving a rolling gem, a truly rare automobile, and the Maybach is really not going to be targeted at drivers, but at passengers.
In truth then, everything else is either too pedestrian, too much of a sports car, or a creampuff on wheels. And that leaves the Arnage T alone as the standard-bearer for top-performance, top-comfort, top-dollar driver's sedans.
